Now that I am playing more shows, I’m encountering bands that are new and unknown outside of their area. I plan to share bands with you when I encounter them.

My old band Campion, played a show in Evansville, Indiana in 1999 or 2000, somewhere in there. The guy that set the show up came up to me as we got out of our van and said that it looked like there would be a good turnout and he was really excited that the guys from Mock Orange were there to see the show. I had never heard of them, but he seemed really excited they were there, so I figured I should see what they were all about.

I ordered Nines and Sixes (Lobster Records) from Al at Co-op Records in Rock Island. You know, back in the day when you went to record stores to special order your stuff that was too unknown for them to carry. Read the rest of this entry »

This Saturday evening, one of my bands, The Country Mile, is playing a benefit for our local DIY record store. Mixtapes, in downtown East Moline, IL is have a benefit show at the VFW Hall on the border of East Moline and Moline to help them stay in business. Read the rest of this entry »

Daytrotter is breathing life into a portion of the Quad Cities music scene that has been dead for as long as I can remember. I have not seen many mid-sized or bigger indie rock bands come through here. Read the rest of this entry »
